Our school

Carole Park State School has much to offer students. We have a wide range of programs and interest groups to cater for the diverse needs of our students, that foster a sense of identity and citizenship. Students who attend Carole Park State School take a great deal of pride in their school.

Programs on offer include:

Languages other than English (LOTE)

There are many groups at Carole Park who perform, within the school as well as to outside audiences. These groups include instrumental, ukulele, voice and dance.

Carole Park State School students are given opportunities to participate in extension days and activities throughout the year such as Brain Days, Sporting Events and Workshops.

Counselling and Guidance

The school offers support to students and their families in a number of different ways. These include individual counselling, family support, liaison between agencies and families and Art Therapy.

Learning Support

Learning support is offered to students who are in need. Support may be offered individually or in small groups.

Pre Prep  Program

We offer a Pre Prep program to future students. The program helps children to be ready for a smooth transition to school. The class is held twice weekly in Terms 3 and 4, and teaches children basics in reading, writing and math.

The National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program provides funding to schools to access the services of a school chaplain or student welfare worker.

This program aims to help school communities support the spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing of their students

A range of services are provided by school chaplains and student welfare workers including:

  • support and guidance about ethics, values, relationships and spirituality

  • provision of pastoral care

  • engagement with the broader community.

We are fortunate at Carole Park State School to have the services of Felicity McClenaghan who works as a Chaplain at our school on Mondays and Thursdays.  Felicity will require parental approval to work with children on a one to one basis but also runs activities before school and at lunch times.  She also spends time in classrooms helping teachers and students.
