Carole Park State School provides classroom music for all students from prep to Year 6. All students will be given great opportunities to develop their musical knowledge, play and sing together as a group and discover to express themselves. Students learn musical skills such as pitch, beat, rhythm, singing, movement, listening and composing which are based on the Australian curriculum (ACARA).
We teach music through internationally well-known music methodologies such as The Orff Schulwerk with musical instruments, sequential singing using the Kodály method and through movements of the Dalcroze method. Students learn musical instruments such as ukulele, xylophone, Djembe, drum and the piano/keyboard in their music classroom. They also perform at assemblies and school events.
All these activities focus on “enjoyment” and appreciation of music.
Instrumental music is also offered at our school including, woodwind, brass, percussion and ukelele lessons.
